When top real estate agents have a legal question, Arthur Meirson is their first call
Arthur is a highly respected real estate attorney with over 15 years of legal and brokerage experience. He is known for being the go-to resource for real estate agents in need of legal guidance and “deal doctoring.” Clients rely on Arthur for his breadth of legal knowledge, analytical skills, solution-oriented approach to problem solving, and unique perspectives combining legal rules with business practicalities.
In 2011, Arthur joined g3mh, LLP and for over a decade he handled all aspects of real estate and business transactional matters and litigation. As a transactional attorney, Arthur meticulously ensures the timely and efficient performance of all stakeholders in deals, conducts due diligence, reviews and advises clients on disclosures, title reports, financial documents, inspection reports, and ensures governmental compliance. Arthur negotiates and drafts a wide range of legal instruments such as commercial and residential leases, HOA and TIC governing documents, business operating agreements, easements and neighbor agreements, vendor agreements, and lending instruments. Arthur also regularly represents sellers and buyers in “broker-less” real estate transactions.
As a litigator, Arthur successfully represented dozens of clients through completed jury and bench trials, arbitrations, and appeals, in cases including prescriptive easements, TIC and HOA disputes, breach of contract claims, seller non-disclosure, landlord-tenant litigation, and representations of property owners before the San Francisco Board of Appeals. In addition to cases litigated through final judgments, Arthur represented hundreds of clients through satisfactory resolutions of disputes through pre-litigation negotiations and litigation settlements.
Due to Arthur’s wide experience with real estate law, he regularly advises residential and commercial property owners and managers, fractional loan lending institutions, and corporate executives and boards.
From 2021 to 2025, Arthur took a temporary leave from g3mh, LLP to serve as the managing broker, first at Coldwell Banker’s San Francisco flagship office, and later at Compass, running the brokerage’s Northern California corporate headquarters. During this time, Arthur helped the brokerages navigate out of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic collapse that began in 2022. During his three years at Compass, Arthur supervised a roster of more than 200 real estate agents and managed more than $4 billion in closed sales volume annually. As a brokerage manager, Arthur reviewed transaction files, addressed strategy and risk management concerns, resolved broker and consumer disputes, responded to Department of Real Estate inquiries, and provided ongoing educational workshops to ensure agents were equipped to handle complex transactional issues. Further, in the wake of watershed industry changes wrought by antitrust litigation against the National Association of Realtors, brokerages, and MLSs, Arthur developed and implemented policies and best practices ensuring that his agents remained competitive while complying with evolving legal and ethical rules.
Given his love for the law and passion for serving clients directly, in 2025 Arthur returned to g3mh, LLP, bringing a wealth of legal and brokerage expertise.
In addition to his legal practice, Arthur maintains active leadership roles at the San Francisco Association of Realtors where he serves as Vice Chair of both the Standard Forms Committee and the Government Relations Committee. In these roles, Arthur has an unparalleled understanding of the forms used in real estate transactions and works tirelessly to advocate for policies that protect property owners and housing providers in an increasingly challenging environment. Arthur is also a member of the Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom where he previously served on the Judicial Nominations Committee.
Arthur received his law degree from the University of California College of Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). He received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where he double majored in history/political science and Jewish studies. He began his legal career in 2009 as an Assistant District Attorney, where, in addition to traditional prosecutorial work, he advanced Vice President Kamala Harris’s Smart on Crime policy initiatives during her tenure as District Attorney of San Francisco. In 2010, Arthur joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius as a litigation associate, where he primarily handled international antitrust litigation and domestic foreclosure cases in the wake of the 2008 banking collapse.
Arthur has deep roots in San Francisco and Marin. He is an avid outdoorsman, and most weekends can be found biking, running, and hiking, often with his husband and adorable pups: labradoodle, Amber, and Cavapoo, Maggie (photos available on request). He has visited most of the U.S. National Parks, nearly completing his goal to visit them all. Lastly, he is a foodie who always welcomes recipes and restaurant recommendations.
